Course Content
The NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Safety & Health course covers a broad range of health and safety topics and is assessed by one open book exam and one practical assignment.
Topics include:
- Health and safety legislation
- Identifying human and organisation problems to make the workplace safe
- Carrying out safety inspections and identifying common hazards
- Learning how to investigate events which led, or might lead to an incident
- Conducting training for new and inexperienced workers
- Communicating effectively with employees and management.
After completing the course and gaining your qualification you will be able to confidently carry out professional health and safety practice in the workplace, including ensuring workplace risks and eliminated or minimised.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements for this course. However, learners must have a suitable standard of English language to take part and complete the assessments.
Assessments
The course is assessed in two parts:
- Part 1 (known as NG1 unit) is assessed by an Open Book Exam
- Part 2 (known as NG2 unit) is assessed by a practical risk assessment.
